Terri: Okay. Okay.
Jason: And welcome to episode seventy six of Castles of Cauldrons. I'm your host, Jason Davis. We are back from H H N and Food and Wine.
Myka: Yay. We survived.
Terri: Yay.
Jason: Yay. we
Rachel: I had FOMO.
Jason: Yeah, she did. So I have the co owner of Magical Travel, our wonderful sponsor, Rachel, is with us. And then we have Terry and Micah, and then of course myself, we're all agents with Magical Travel. So I'm glad to be back on. I'm I'm did y'all get enough sleep after all the late night for H H N.
Myka: no. I did not. No, seeing as I sat around the airport for like six hours waiting for my flight when I could have been doing other things.
Terri: No. Micah has the worst.
Jason: Never. Mike has been.
Rachel: What type
Jason: yeah.
Myka: I cannot fly out of Orlando without there being a delay.
Terri: Okay.
Jason: You can't fly out of anywhere with us, at least, with a travel agents or with with the podcast. Because June you had five plays.
Myka: No, what flying in and out
Terri: Rachel, let me tell you this.
Myka: of Okay, go ahead.
Terri: Michael was asleep when I left there to Magic Kingdom. I went to Magic Kingdom. She's like, I'm checking out. I'm leaving. I'm going to airport because she had what you were leaving an hour before me. I went to Magic Kingdom.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: I left Magic Kingdom at 1130. Got on the bus, went and got my luggage, got to the airport. I was through TSA by 1230. Ready for my
Rachel: Right.
Terri: flight. I couldn't have planned anything better. Got on my flight and Rachel, I mean, Michael's sitting here telling us like she's delayed, like their pilot's not there, blah, blah. Take my flight. Get off. Meet my family. We go eat at Olive Garden by the airport. We were on the way home from Olive Garden when Micah said she's finally on her flight. I mean, that whole time she was in the airport, I got all that done. It was like the pilot, then what, rain? And then like...
Myka: There were storms in Atlanta. So our
Terri: Hmm
Myka: pilot was coming from Atlanta, couldn't make it. So our crew was gonna time out. So they then had to get us an entirely new crew because our flight was supposed to take off at 124. and we took off at almost 6 30 p.m.
Rachel: my god.
Jason: Micah had
Myka: And I was like, I wish I would have known this because I could have bought a one day ticket and like hung out in the parks and done things instead of just sitting at the airport.
Jason: We had we dropped Micah off that morning and we made it
Myka: At eleven thirty.
Jason: yeah, we made it back to just out Mike maybe forty
Terri: you
Jason: five minutes outside our house when she said she landed.
Rachel: my god. That's
Myka: Yeah. Mm-hmm.
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: So
Rachel: horrible. I'm sorry. That stinks.
Myka: Yeah, it's I mean, it's fine. I was flying Frontier, nothing against them. It's not their fault that there was bad weather in Atlanta. They were doing everything they could to make sure that everyone that was on the flight like was able to get where they needed to go. But downside to Frontier is their customer service isn't the best. I called because my flight was delayed over four hours and they're supposed to give you like a meal voucher. But to get the
Terri: Yeah.
Myka: meal voucher, you would have to go outside of security to the ticket counter. where you check your luggage to get your meal voucher and then come back through security. And I was like, well, it's not worth it for like what, $10, $15 that they might give me to get something. So I
Rachel: Right.
Terri: Yeah.
Myka: just went and grabbed a snack thing and a Lani and just sat in the corner and listened to an audiobook and like was trying to do other things. I made laps around the airport. I went to other terminals. Like I was just trying to
Terri: No!
Myka: do other things.
Rachel: Yeah.
Myka: Trying to do other things. But yeah, it wasn't great. I've never not had a delay flying out of Orlando, so
Rachel: What time did you guys end up leaving the park for H H N?
Myka: So we have different times. Terry left at a different time than us. She wasn't feeling great.
Terri: I'll look around midnight.
Myka: Yeah, she left around midnight and we left our
Jason: We walked out at one thirty.
Myka: Yeah, I was like our pictures out front were like one thirty something.
Rachel: Okay.
Myka: and by the time we got back to All Star Sports, it was like well, it was first of all, the fastest Uber ride ever. The guy was going like over eighty mile an hour on the highway. It was kind of terrifying. We did.
Jason: In a minivan. We had a little Toyota minivan and he's going
Rachel: My
Jason: eighty
Rachel: god.
Jason: the entire time. I'm like, my god, we're gonna die.
Myka: Yeah, it was really fast. But I was in bed by 3 30 after taking a shower and everything, so I had to get the body glitter off of me before I got in bed. Yeah. Terry said
Rachel: Yeah. And it's like wind down. Yeah.
Terri: Yeah
Myka: she was gonna go to sleep and like don't worry, like you don't have to be quiet, I'll be asleep. She was on her phone scrolling in bed longer than I was. I rolled over to go to sleep and she was still scrolling on her phone.
Terri: reading. I got into a really good chapter. I to finish it.
Jason: It was a good night. Let's have it.
Terri: But I like how it showered and packed and everything by the time she got back.
Myka: She did. She did.
Jason: It was fun. It was great. Like
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: the worst thing was like
Terri: Have good time.
Jason: just trying to figure out a few little things, but we'll can talk about that a little bit later. we're gonna start with talking about food and wine festival because before Micah came in, Terry, my wife and myself all went to we went to Hollywood Studios for a few hours and then we went to Food and Wine, which
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: we went into we were gonna go ride Muppets, but it was like an hour wait.
Terri: It's like 65 minutes, so.
Jason: Yeah, I wasn't gonna make them stand in this in the hot. I mean, it was stupid hot too. It was
Terri: It was like only 85 degrees, but it was that a million percent
Jason: But it felt like a hundred and eighty five.
Terri: humidity, bright
Rachel: Humidity.
Terri: sun, no clouds, Florida hot. It was just uncomfortable. Just standing
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: outside just made you angry because it was just so uncomfortable. There was no relief. It does.
Myka: Made you angry.
Rachel: Made you angry.
Jason: It w it It was it was really, really bad. Like we were standing in line for the bus and I was like just standing there just drenched in sweat. I'm like, this is miserable. so we did the magic of Disney animation, walked around that to see what that was like in the courtyard, which I thought was really well done. I like the whole
Terri: Yes.
Jason: the whole area. We didn't meet any characters, we didn't watch the show, we didn't even draw. It was thirty, forty minutes to draw with Olaf.
Terri: Yeah, we did count like
Myka: Time.
Terri: how many groups we would be behind because it was like 20, 30 minutes per group and we would be like two or three groups back. So. Yeah.
Jason: That's the but we saw the white rabbit talking about how the Disney Jr. was behind schedule or something. They were running late. It was pretty fun.
Terri: Yeah, that was really funny. He was late. The white rabbit from...
Jason: And then we watched we went and shopped, like we just walked through all the stores. We did Siobhan, just walked through all the stores.
Rachel: Pålusivan.
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: Yeah.
Myka: feel like Hollywood Studios is a great place to shop though. I feel like they have stuff there sometimes that you won't see at some of the other parks.
Jason: It is. We I
Terri: It is,
Jason: mean
Terri: in an animation courtyard, did have, mean, in the inside part, the art that you get to look at, a lot of it's interactive. So your kids might be like, I don't want to go look at art. They want to go like ride things. But like Beth and I, you know, there's a frame and you like hit your magic band or whatever. And it takes your picture. Like you're like rocking the boat. You're trying to get the coconuts off of Moana's boat. And like the more you see,
Myka: Kakamura?
Terri: look like an idiot while you're doing it, but it's really
Myka: Ha
Terri: fun. And then some of the portraits that they have on the wall, like they either change or like the characters turned their heads, kind of like Harry Potter. So it looks like still portraits, but if you catch it, cause it doesn't happen very often, but they'll move. So like I said, some kids might look at it and be like, I don't know. That's might look kind of boring, but it's actually kind of fun in there. So I wouldn't pass by it.
Jason: And it's a photo op too, so you can take some pictures at the end of it and they come to your magic band.
Terri: Mm-hmm.
Myka: good.
Terri: There were like three or four characters out there taking pictures. in there, I guess.
Jason: I think that's the real thing that like Disney World misses versus Disneyland is like the roaming characters. So like having Pluto walk around, Chip and Del were out there, the White Rabbit, that's a lot of characters that were just walking around in that little area. You know, no ness
Terri: Mm-hmm.
Jason: no real meet and greet for it.
Rachel: That's good.
Jason: so then we went to Epcot and Terry and Beth ate. I drank because I I don't do lunch usually. So I just let that I tried some things, like like two or three. But
Terri: Yeah.
Rachel: And you took a picture of the beer ting I saw?
Jason: Yes. We had to take a tip we always
Terri: It's a beer routine.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: always had to do that. We had to go
Rachel: And thank you for the flying fish picture that warmed my heart.
Myka: Yes.
Jason: Yes. It's like we have to
Myka: That did like I was at work and so sad. Like I'm getting these pictures and I'm like, I wanna be there. I wanna be an upcot.
Jason: we were we
Rachel: We know.
Jason: were going to Hurley Burley and I like, We gotta stop at flying fish and be like, Hey, we got dinner plans and
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: make Rachel jealous and we
Terri: Yeah, by that point, I don't think we could have eaten anything else.
Rachel: Picture.
Myka: You guys were actually gonna go.
Terri: We were so stuffed
Jason: Yeah, no, more.
Terri: by the, well, I was stuffed. think Beth was too, cause like Jason said, he didn't eat, but I don't think I could, I wasn't going to pay for dinner like that and not eat it. I don't think there's any way we could have eaten it. Yeah.
Myka: Right. You have to go to that hungry. Yeah.
Rachel: Right. Yeah.
Jason: So let's go over some of the stuff we had or y'all had. I just had alcohol. And it was good.
Myka: Which a lot of people do at Upcot.
Jason: Yes.
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: we've been seeing the videos now of the guy that jumped into the the water on the three caballeros. Yeah. Yeah, he dove in.
Terri: He dove.
Myka: Like he didn't just jump, he dove.
Rachel: I saw that. He dove. He like
Terri: It's like, how deep is that water? Because I would think it's like this deep. I would not dive in it. Yeah.
Rachel: yeah. It's like it's like ankle length. Isn't it like six inches?
Jason: It's like Yeah, it's like two or three feet.
Myka: Not deep.
Jason: Yeah, it's
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: it's enough for that boat to float.
Myka: Yeah. And to just move it along. That's it.
Jason: In a rail. He
Terri: But security wasn't even waiting for him.
Jason: he got trespassed.
Rachel: D he did get trespassed? I saw he
Jason: Yeah.
Rachel: like went back into the boat.
Jason: Yeah, people didn't get reached out and they put out a statement today from Disney saying that they got trespassed. So I'm not going
Terri: But apparently he was the second one to do it.
Jason: I don't know. There's a bunch of people doing this type of stuff now.
Rachel: And then did you see that guy, the
Myka: They just wanna get kicked out.
Rachel: the grown man, like on the top of Tiana's? He did this he got
Jason: I have not seen that one.
Terri: Nah
Rachel: out of it and like started walking down the steps. no, I don't think it was Tiana's. I was in land. Might have been Splash.
Jason: I saw yeah.
Terri: Why?
Rachel: Yeah. He just got he got scared. The grown man got scared.
Jason: It's so s on to food.
Myka: Sounds like an excuse.
Terri: This is stupid.
Jason: Yeah. I th so we we started technically in the way Terry likes to go, but we went the correct way around the world. So we started in the UK.
Terri: We got off the Skyliner. And
Jason: Yeah, we came off the Skyliners starting in the UK.
Myka: Right.
Rachel: Okay,
Terri: yeah.
Rachel: you went that way. Got it.
Jason: So we but we went around and ended in France so we could go to
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: Hurley. the first thing they had was pumpkin ravioli. I don't know how to say that middle name or the middle word. And then we had a some type of peanut butter
Terri: Is it Marscapone?
Jason: spout, huh?
Terri: Is it Marscapone?
Jason: I think so. How did y'all like that?
Terri: or mascarpone. It was okay.
Rachel: The cheese?
Jason: It was like three raviolis.
Terri: Yeah, it was good. think the ravioli, like the pasta was kind of tough, but I think that's just the situation of it's pre-made and sits there in a pre-portioned. The filling was good. I mean, it wasn't bad. It wasn't great. It's right there in the middle. you like pumpkin, if you want something different, it's a good thing to try. If you like pumpkin and you just want something different. Obviously, if you're like Jason, and you don't enjoy those kind of things, I would say just keep on walking.
Jason: Like I said, if if we would have done it more at supper time, when I'm more apt to eating, I probably would have tried more, but I'm just not a lunch person. I don't I've trained my body not to eat at lunch, so
Myka: So sad. I love lunchtime.
Jason: the drink we had was a peanut butter stout. It was great. Didn't you get one, Terry? Or did you just dr did you just share ours?
Rachel: I could see you liking that.
Terri: No, I took a sip. I'm not a big, I like beer, but I don't like flavored beers. Like things like that.
Jason: Yeah, this one was this one was chocolate Yeah, it was chocolate peanut butter. I don't know if I'd get it again, but it was good. all this that this one was in that little area in between I don't know the it's the ice cream place? Yeah.
Terri: It's in UK and Canada. It's on the, it's close to the lake. It's on that side. Like you're kind of like walk off the little path.
Rachel: It's close to the lake. The whole freaking showcase is close to the lake, Terry.
Terri: But I mean, it's not like I'm this sad. you're walking...
Jason: It's it's closer it's it's that walkway that goes
Terri: If you're walking...
Jason: it's that back walkway from World Showcase to the imagination area. So that little area they built
Rachel: Yeah.
Terri: Yeah, get off the main path.
Jason: in. Yeah.
Myka: Okay.
Jason: the ice cream the little ice cream store that used to be a Starbucks. It's
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: that little walkway. that was
Terri: And they had a giant pumpkin that I was real until I got up to it. It was fake. I was so mad. It was huge.
Jason: Yeah. That was at the forest and field. Then that we went to milled and molded. I don't know. Yep. That's it. I don't
Terri: Mold. Mold.
Myka: Milled mold?
Jason: I don't do English.
Rachel: Mold?
Myka: Mold, like I know.
Terri: Should have taken the notes home with me.
Jason: You should have. I have been up since midnight, so they had the butternut
Terri: I don't even have my phone to reference.
Jason: they had the butternut squash and ginger bisque and then a freshly baked carrot cake, and we had the three daughters
Rachel: Ooh.
Jason: brewing apple, strudel, hard
Myka: Ooh, I bet that carrot cake was good.
Jason: cider. I didn't try any of this.
Rachel: Yeah, did you eat the carrot cake? I love carrot cake.
Terri: Yes, if you want big portions, this is the place you go. Because this soup
Jason: Yes, I was gonna say the same thing.
Terri: was delicious, but you got like a whole bowl, not like a tasting bowl, but like a whole bowl like that deep. We didn't finish them because we...
Jason: It was
Rachel: Ooh, were you hot? Hot hot having soup?
Jason: Yeah, that's the thing. That's like I
Terri: It's hot. And we each got
Jason: I I
Terri: one because we got to assume the other like we were buying, you know, because we're trying to alternate who was buying stuff. So we each got one. So then we had two big bowls of soup and there was just no way.
Jason: So finally we just came down with we'll but me and Beth bought drinks and Terry
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: bought the food. So it wasn't like
Rachel: Yeah.
Terri: But the piece
Jason: but
Terri: of carrot cake was like this big and like this thick. mean, it was a good, we didn't finish that either.
Rachel: Nice.
Terri: It was a good size and nice and spongy and moist.
Jason: It look it looked good and I w wanted to try it, but at the same time it was a hundred and thirty degrees outside and I don't want a bisque. I wasn't
Terri: Yeah, but it was a really good one.
Jason: I mean y'all y'all did y'all did work on that one for a while. I'm not going in any type of order by the way. we went to the wedge. We did go ride Soarin over America because that
Terri: yeah, that was nice.
Jason: was the only ride we rode all day. Just to see what it was like. It was meh. After that we went. It's
Rachel: You didn't like it?
Terri: transitions. I wish they would have transitioned
Myka: Yeah, they're not smooth.
Terri: between places
Rachel: Yeah, the transitions are unsmooth. Yeah.
Terri: better. I hated that. It was like watching a show and I don't want to feel like I'm watching a show when I'm in Soarin', you know?
Jason: Well, that's because you were watching a show, Terry.
Terri: But it doesn't normally feel like that. Like I feel like I'm really flying through the world. Anyway.
Jason: I really like like California's my favorite one. And then I would say this one's probably just above the world, just because they did fix some of the stuff that was wrong with soaring over the world. But it still wasn't great. Like there's a huge gap in between California and world. we did the world the wedge, where we got three cheese, macaroni and cheese, which was good. Then
Terri: So good.
Jason: the wine flight, which What was in it? It was a r there was a rose, there was a I don't know what else there was.
Terri: got a glass of Caymus there, so I didn't participate in the wine party. But it was a wider bed to rosé.
Jason: Like Wasn't Camus on that though? On the wine flight? I don't know.
Terri: I don't think so. No, but it was sponsored by the dairy council or whatever. When we were in, it's called
Jason: Yeah.
Terri: the wedge, like cheese and then inside the whole building is orange. So everything glows yellow, like even you. It feels like you're in a wheel of cheese.
Jason: And it was Wisconsin cheese. They had that all over the place. Sponsored it wasn't sponsored
Terri: Yes, they're very promoted.
Jason: by them, but it was Wisconsin. then we also went to the brew
Terri: but delicious.
Jason: we went into the brew lab w at the Odyssey. Well I did and picked up the sweet chili. Not that. Let me make sure I get the no one did.
Myka: Nobody ate my garlic parmesan wings. No garlic parm wings. You know, I was like really
Terri: No, because Jason's.
Myka: close to having you guys bring them back and leave them in the refrigerator in the room so I could just heat up in the microwave in the food court. But I didn't.
Jason: So I we I went in there for the frozen pomegranate raspberry tea.
Rachel: Yummy.
Jason: And when we walk when I walked in there to get it for him, it was like a madhouse. This was like where everybody like me would go eat. So there was a line of just people waiting for their food and it would have been thirty, forty minutes just to get the food. It took ten, fifteen minutes just to get the drink.
Terri: They had the coolest cup though. They have the, they're acrylic, they're not glass, but it looks like glass. And it's the cup that's shaped like a can, like you've seen. And it's got
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: so like Muppet design on the outside, the brew lab. And that what the design was.
Jason: There is Yeah.
Myka: that's fun.
Terri: It's got the bubble pearls in there, but it was good. I thought it was good.
Jason: It was okay. I I tried a little bit of it. this one I got stuck with that drink more so than anything 'cause they were eating we went in to Australia and got the grilled bushberry spice shrimp scrim shrimp skewer, scramp, scramp, scampy. Those were really good.
Myka: Scramp. The scramps.
Terri: They were really good. If you're a fish eater and you like seafood, I was really worried about eating seafood when it was hot in the park, but they were
Rachel: Can
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: delicious.
Rachel: I'm a little confused. You said Australia?
Jason: Yeah.
Terri: Mm-hmm. It's like a kiosk type booth
Myka: It's one of the booths.
Jason: Yeah, it's a big Yeah.
Myka: Yeah. Like they have a Hawaii booth and an Australia
Rachel: I'm like, am I missing something? I was like
Myka: booth. No.
Terri: You don't remember kangaroo at play soon?
Myka: Ha.
Jason: Yeah. That's where
Terri: The koalas and everything?
Rachel: like did we add another country?
Jason: Yeah, that's where Bluey meets. then
Terri: It's right there if you come off, like, you start in the World Showcase
Jason: The walk.
Terri: right before Mexico. If you take the left, it's before Mexico. So.
Jason: Yeah, it's between
Rachel: Okay.
Jason: the the main entrance and then the bathroom walkway to the Odyssey. It's like sits right there. we also got
Terri: And it was like 10 good sized shrimp on a skewer. And like it was a great flavor and
Jason: Yeah. this would be another one where it's like
Terri: it's a good, mean, I was very surprised at the portions and Beth got the pavlova because Travis loves Bluey and
Jason: Right. She she wanted to try boot. Yep.
Myka: huh.
Terri: she took pictures and told Travis everything. I'm not a big pavlova fan because it's just dried meringue to me. But it was good for a pavlova. So if you're into that kind of thing, but it was so light and airy that the wind blew and like it blew like it blew off the plate like we had to catch it. yeah, but those shrimp, think the shrimp are the things Jason ate the most of, of anything. I think
Jason: It was.
Terri: he had like three of those. So that's what I'm saying. Like that's good for you.
Jason: I think we all pretty much had three. Like I said, it like nine or ten nine or ten of them. So it was good it was good for all of us to be able to share.
Terri: Mm-hmm.
Jason: we had a wine flight there as well. then we went to Bethany went to China, got the smoked duck bao bun, and then a Baha'i punch. And at this time, like the and Terry and Beth both had margaritas. So we all went to
Terri: We've got margaritas that were not part of the food and wine. Beth got the, I forget which one, it's the blood orange one. It's at the Tiki Bar outside of the Mexican restaurant. Can't think the right now. It's the Saanen Hill.
Jason: It was spicy. I think hers was. I think she got the Fruta de La Passion because it had a salty chili rim.
Terri: but it's blood orange and she really likes blood orange but
Jason: That's the thing.
Terri: word to the wise it whatever flavor other flavor that was complimenting it was smoked and the entire drink did not taste like orange at all and it tasted like smoke. So if
Myka: that's not good.
Terri: you're she was very disappointed. I got one
Rachel: No.
Terri: that was like the layered like it was like a mango strawberry something margarita regular margarita and like I got it because I walked by some guy and I was like where'd you get that drink because it looks so good and he told me and he called me ma'am and that made me feel really old. And I was like, I mean, I'm 41,
Rachel: He calls you mail.
Terri: but I look like I'm 25, right?
Myka: Yeah.
Terri: He's like, it's right over there, ma'am. I was like, no.
Myka: He's just being respectful.
Terri: But it was so good. So if you go there, don't get the blood orange one unless you like super smoky flavor, but get the layered one, because it was delicious.
Jason: like Rachel mentioned, we did stop in Germany because I had to get my Scholfger hard spaghetti. Yeah, the grapefruit beer.
Rachel: That's a good drink. Is that what we had last time? Mm-hmm.
Terri: Mm-hmm.
Jason: And we got a picture in front of beer guinea and then we went to the Hurley Burley. We didn't eat anything, I don't like China obviously, but we didn't eat anything else.
Terri: It was like the duck breast, bell burn and what was it called? I
Rachel: No
Terri: want to call it moon pie, but I know that's not what it's Moon cake.
Jason: Yeah, the moon the moon cake or something. Mooncake. Yeah. But it wasn't it's not listed in their menu, but it was on the thing.
Rachel: A duck breast baob bun? That just sounds so good.
Terri: Yeah, was like, Balboons and mooncake are not my favorite, but they were good. They just aren't at the top of my list because they're not my normal favorites. But like the Balboon was nice and soft and steamy and it was good.
Jason: And it was starting to get crowded. Like you the weekend crowd was starting
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: to come in about this time. So we made our way out. We went to the brand new Hurley Burley, which took place of what's the piano bar and
Myka: jelly rolls.
Jason: jelly rolls, yeah.
Terri: to you.
Jason: it was still the brand I mean, it was day two of this thing. So it was family day, family night when we were there, family time, whatever. And it was it was okay. Terry didn't she
Terri: I enjoyed it.
Jason: got yeah, Terry got a diet coke. I got I can't remember
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: what I got. I got alcohol. Yeah.
Rachel: The hurly burly?
Terri: Yeah, first,
Rachel: Is it a bar?
Terri: yeah,
Jason: It is.
Terri: like they have like a tapas kind of menu, like small plates, but
Rachel: Okay.
Terri: there's like they have food, but not food.
Jason: We had the yeah, we had the concession, the theater concessions, which is the meatballs, sugar sugar cookie and popcorn. And it was it was good. Like for how much we ate and especially how much they
Rachel: Right.
Jason: ate on the way, it
Terri: Okay, no.
Jason: was gave them enough. they were playing Family Feud when we came in. The best way to describe
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: it like on Disney in the D Lounge, how it's Like a family fun thing and then after a certain time it turns into the adults only. Or Tritons. I mean
Terri: say I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I was not looking forward to this at all because it had like, I didn't like the mock-up of it. I didn't like the jazzy feel that it said it was going to have. But it was really, but I love trivia. So like left side of the room was heroes or whatever, right side of the room was villains or maybe I have those reversed.
Jason: It's th yeah, that I don't remember we were sitting on the villain side if I remember right.
Terri: Yeah, and it was like that, like he said, they would ask family feud type questions. And Lord, I can't remember any of them right now, but.
Jason: One of was what what's something what's a chore that gets pro you procrastinate doing or something like that. So
Terri: Yeah. Yeah, like doing the dishes,
Myka: Laundry.
Terri: taking out the trash. Yeah, women were like hands up all the time. Like we know these. Like what are the chores no one will do? So then like family feud, if your team got them all, but they got three strikes, the other team could steal the whole thing. And so our
Myka: Yeah.
Terri: team ended up winning kind of by default that way. And we came in like halfway through the game. So we didn't answer any questions and we still were on the winning side. But
Myka: Yeah.
Terri: it was a nice, fun atmosphere. Like I said. I wasn't looking forward to it at all. But a la trivia, it's a nice, like the chairs were comfy. It's very loungy. You know? Yes. Yeah.
Jason: Set us right next to the stage too. So that like that was the biggest thing. Yeah. So when
Rachel: they kept the stage there?
Jason: they walked us in, we they walked us straight to the front of the stage and we're like, no. We're
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: gonna be like, we gotta get into this fast. And like like Terry said, we didn't answer anything. We we were answering among ourselves, but we weren't like jumping
Terri: Yeah, we have very enthusiastic
Rachel: Participating.
Terri: people all throughout the audience. So people are raising their hands left and right.
Jason: We were also like all of us retired. So but it's
Myka: And probably feel in your drinks a little by this point too.
Jason: Yes.
Myka: Yeah.
Rachel: Was there a cover charge?
Terri: No. And it looks like if you try to go in there and it says walk up, not available, that's what it said. We we started trying it like after France because within
Jason: Flying fish. Yeah.
Terri: so far they won't let you. And so Jason
Rachel: Mm-hmm.
Terri: just happened to walk up because the hostess outside, he's like, well, I'm just going to ask her. And she's like, yeah, it's a 10 minute wait. So if it says walk up, not available.
Jason: No, she said she said you'll get a you'll get a text message, when it's ready. I'm like, Well, we'll just sit right here. And
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: the text message came through says your wait's expected to be ten minutes and then two seconds later get another text message saying your table's ready. So
Terri: Yeah. So if you want to go,
Rachel: Your table's ready.
Myka: That's nice.
Terri: don't just think because you can't walk up, they must be full because they obviously have room.
Jason: They do have a walk up bar on the broadw bar boardwalk, so you can sit right there. the only negative I think we could agree on was like how loud everything was when we were trying to order. Like we couldn't hear our waiter talk to us because the guy was talking into the microphone.
Myka: Mm.
Jason: positive though is that that game got done and they were done for a few minutes. So it
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: wasn't like game, five second break, new game. It was just relax.
Terri: And the menu's not that extensive, like we're saying. So there's only so many things that, you know, there's like no specials of the night or things like that, that they're like trying to rattle off to you. You can do a lot of pointing at
Jason: I would like
Terri: the menu if it's loud.
Jason: Yeah. I would like to go at night though with the live band and see what it's like. Just to see how the atmosphere changes. But for a good middle of the day break for Epcot for your family, you know, hop in there, get some light snacks and a drink or they had mocktails too.
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: So it'd be fun. It's it's good for the kids. we did go down to Disney Springs for a little bit, trying to keep Terry awake for Micah so she didn't have to like wake Mica wake Terry up.
Myka: Well, because my flight didn't land until eleven thirty PM Friday 'cause I worked all day.
Jason: And Terry tried her first Gideon's cookie.
Rachel: I was just gonna say, did you get Gideons?
Jason: I spent fifty
Terri: Ms.
Jason: dollars at Gideon's.
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: I got a I got a slice of
Myka: It's easy to do.
Jason: cake and five cookies.
Rachel: I freeze them.
Jason: Terry, how was your first Gideons?
Rachel: I take home.
Terri: It was good, but not my favorite. I need to,
Rachel: What did you get?
Terri: I need to send Jason back for that cookie.
Jason: Don't worry about it.
Terri: The chocolate chip. didn't like the chocolate chip. It's, don't like
Rachel: What'd you get? It's too much. It's too much.
Terri: the chocolate chips on the outside. Why do we do that? Why are we doing that guys? No one, no one likes that. Yeah.
Rachel: It's the whole thing is chocolate chips on the outside. It's
Jason: I like Yeah. And then it's still chocolate chips on the inside too.
Rachel: it's too much. Yeah,
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: Yes.
Rachel: it's too much. I agree. I like the coffee cake one.
Jason: I got cookies and cream and they're Frankens the our the reason I went was Frankenstein 'cause it's the and with the d dark chocolate crumbs on the fr on the top. And it was really good. I just took the last bite before we started recording. So it was like, my God, this is great.
Myka: They were really nice and asked me if I wanted anything while they were at Gideon's and I
Jason: We did.
Rachel: No, that was nice.
Myka: was like, No, thank you. I don't need a giant cookie.
Jason: We tried me and Beth tried the cake. It was a marshmallow chocolate chip, chocolate cake, and it was really good, really sweet, but
Rachel: Yeah. Sounds sweet.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: it was good. Other than that, w it was Disney Springs and was crowded and a mess. So
Terri: Yeah, Beth and I went to Sephora, because she had to pick something up that she had forgotten. I had to get something and Lord, that was a nothing has ever made me happier. didn't have teenage daughters than being in that Sephora with all those teenage girls. It was crazy.
Rachel: We're is it a weekend? You guys were there on a weekend? Well that's why. It's all the local
Jason: It was a Friday night, yeah.
Myka: Friday night. Mm hmm. Yeah.
Terri: Yeah. Yeah.
Rachel: shopping.
Jason: Right. Well the the
Myka: Yeah.
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: wait for Gideons was only thirty minutes. So I was like, that's that's cool.
Terri: I was gonna say it wasn't
Rachel: That's not that bad.
Terri: crowded overall, didn't think. because we went, we're on a Disney was
Rachel: Yeah, because everyone's in Sephora.
Jason: Yeah. And
Terri: crazy.
Jason: World of Dis And that's just 'cause it's World of Disney. We didn't go
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: we we went into that in Disney style and we left. So it wasn't
Terri: Yeah, that wasn't busy. That was nice.
Jason: Yeah, that would
Myka: And I still had to wake Terry up when I got there.
Terri: Yeah, I tried.
Jason: I was trying. I was trying. We could have gone and saw a movie, but I didn't.
Myka: Sorry, it was twelve thirty and I had the most talkative Uber driver I think I've ever had. And I'm just like, Girl, I've been up since five AM. It's twelve o'clock. I just wanna get to the hotel and go to bed. That's all. That's all I wanna do.
Terri: That's all.
Myka: She was very nice, but I was tired.
Jason: That's all the Disney stuff we have for this episode. So we'll take a quick break with this ad from our brand new sponsor, once upon a cozy. And that's Heather's
Terri: Hey Heather!
Jason: company that has been on the podcast a few times, and she's gonna be on here in in the next few weeks. So here is a word from our sponsor.

Jason: That's too much to pull. like we talked about at the beginning of the episode, we did my favorite trip of the year, which was HHN, and it was a really good experience. this is the shortest I've ever done HHN. I've only done one trip this year. Usually I do about five visits to the parks during this time just to really soak it all in. So it's kind of weird that I just went the one time.
Terri: Okay.
Jason: we got scream early. We'll start there. We'll we we made it to Universal, what about one o'clock in the afternoon?
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: with Scream Early, we went straight into the park and went straight to Stranger Things. We were in line at I think it was like one fifty or something like that.
Terri: Yeah. Yeah.
Myka: Mm-hmm. Before it officially opened, like it was before two. Yeah.
Jason: Walk through that one.
Myka: And that's the one house Terry went.
Jason: Yeah. It was it was the one house. after that we just we kind of we did Stranger Things, Jack and Oddfellow and Hellraiser were the three that opened with two.
Terri: you
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: Then we went and waited in line at centers right after that. Right? Yeah.
Myka: Yeah, so we did Stranger Things and then Jack and Oddfellow and 'cause Terry had peeled off from us once we went to do Jack and Oddfellow. and
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: met back up with ter with Terry for a little bit
Myka: then Mm.
Jason: and then we went back we went we all had something to eat because we hadn't eaten lunch yet. So
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: we all grabbed food. that was Terry first trying some of the H H N food. What did you try, Terry?
Terri: see this is where I my phone that I'm recording from.
Myka: Because you guys got pizza.
Jason: Yeah, we got pizza.
Terri: the long cheese stick. I a long cheese stick. So good. If you go, it's worth it. It was a little spicy. The marinara was a little spicy and there's a little bit of spice on the cheese stick. Not too much. But it was really good. So I was very pleased with that. I had a nice cheese pull. I got a video I have to post,
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: a nice cheese pull. It was good. It's two people. I couldn't finish it. And I was going to save some for Micah because she wanted to try it and then she has spice in it and she can't have spice. So.
Rachel: I can't do that, yeah.
Terri: Now.
Myka: I'm so sad because I thought at first, like when you read the description, it says spicy marinara. So I thought just the
Terri: Yeah.
Myka: marinara was gonna be spicy, but there's like some red pepper flakes and stuff like on the actual cheese stick. Mm-hmm.
Rachel: but that sounds good though.
Terri: It's like it's in the batter. Like, yeah,
Jason: Yeah. It does.
Terri: it was, it was nice and crispy. Like I said, the outside was crispy, not mushy. And I was eating it in the rain, so it should have been mushy, but it wasn't.
Jason: you also while we you went out to Dagon Alley while we were waiting while we did odd tours.
Terri: Yeah, I to Diagon Alley while they went. I played in Harry Potter World.
Myka: Mhm. She did. Mm-hmm. She did.
Terri: Got some Butterbeer ice cream. I did. I
Rachel: Did you bring your wand?
Jason: She did.
Terri: cast some spells. Found out my backpack
Myka: She did.
Terri: I bought in Disney. The strap has a perfect wand holder in it.
Myka: It did.
Terri: Yeah. So, if you have that.
Jason: we so Stranger Things opened, not Stranger Things, Centers opened about 5 15.
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: We've timed it well enough where there was a storm coming. We're going to all the way to the back to do this. and we're going to stay back there because Hellraiser and centers are next door to each other. so we got done with Hellraiser and there's a big tent with air conditioned, not air conditioning, blowing wind.
Myka: Circulation, stuff that moves
Jason: Yeah, circulating air.
Myka: air. Mm-hmm.
Jason: So we sat down for about an hour for stranger for sinners and
Myka: Thank goodness. Well, because originally they hadn't opened the line yet and it was starting to sprinkle. And I literally look at Jason and Beth and I go, Do you think if it starts to rain, they'll let us under the tent? And then they open the line and we happen to be like perfectly in the middle of the tent on the high part and was able to sit down and then the bottom part.
Jason: Yeah, that was the only rain the entire night. So it was great. We were in the perfect spot. Like there was water coming into the queue in some places. We just sat there, enjoyed ourselves.
Terri: Okay.
Myka: 'Cause we were there for what, an hour and fifteen minutes, I think, is how long we waited.
Jason: Something like that. But then when the house opened, it was like fifteen, like not even fifteen minutes of us actually waiting to go into the house. So it was
Myka: Right, 'cause we were in line before it opened. Yeah.
Jason: And we by by the time the event s officially started, we'd have been through six six houses. Yeah, 'cause we didn't
Myka: Mm-hmm. need to explain how Scream really works, like why we're doing stuff before the event actually opens?
Jason: Well we we had before, but we can talk about it again. Yeah. So scream
Myka: on the episode I wasn't here for.
Jason: No, we we talked about it with HH when we were doing our hikers. Yeah. scream early
Myka: did our hype list? okay.
Jason: in the past had let you in just like at four o'clock. And then starting around five, they start opening houses, but you get in line
Terri: Okay.
Jason: what house you want to start in, and then you would just try to hop through the houses that were open at that point. So I some points I had done three or four houses before the event started. This year they've done something new where it starts at two o'clock. Three houses open up, and then they start opening houses, staggering their openings at five fifteen, five forty-five, and then the last batch of houses start opening when the actual event opens, so six thirty. So we were able to get through a lot of the houses, the big houses by six o'clock. Madlands was our last one that we were in line for before the event started. So it was I think it was pretty successful night when it comes to how we did everything because after that we kind of paced ourselves. We
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: did the first showing of Nightmare Fuel. Yeah.
Myka: Blood Noir. Mm-hmm.
Jason: And then we just kind of watched times for where we wanted to go. we did Cyber Goria too before the park before the event opened.
Terri: Okay.
Myka: Yeah, so we got through, like you said, six of the houses by six thirty, and then we had four houses left, and we really just took our time, hung out, didn't rush around, which was nice.
Rachel: Did you get done all ten houses?
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Rachel: good.
Jason: And we didn't wait longer than an hour.
Myka: The hour was the longest we waited in standby. And that was Aussie. And that
Jason: Like in the if you
Myka: was posted one twenty when we got in line.
Jason: Yeah. So we
Rachel: but you only waited an hour.
Jason: yeah. Cause I would I told Micah
Rachel: Was that the most popular one, you think?
Jason: it was really popular. We got out we got out of Madlands. Yeah. Centers, I think, was around 150 most of the night. Ozzy stayed close to a hundred.
Myka: Yeah. That one and Sinners both had very long lines the whole night.
Terri: you
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: we got out of Madlands and it said 60 minutes. I was well, we should probably just go ahead and get this while we're right here. And Micah and Beth were like, nah, let's go do something else. The line was in
Myka: The line looked long.
Jason: yeah, the line was very deep into a sound stage. So we we came out of one of the houses, last houses. I was like, look, it's a hundred and twenty minutes. We just need to go ahead and jump in this line while it's so high and maybe we get it on a down. And by the time we got it over there, it actually posted a hundred and we waited sixty. So
Myka: Yeah. And then when we got out the line was a lot longer. Like when we got out of the house, I guess because
Rachel: That's good.
Myka: it had come down to a hundred, people are like, it's shorter, but then it was way deeper into that sound stage again when we got out.
Jason: Yeah, we had we have
Terri: I went on green guts.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: she went on green gods. She won't go on like
Terri: And it said 30 minutes and I waited maybe 10. So for anyone there that, I
Jason: Yeah. Thirty minutes is a walk to the queue. Yeah.
Rachel: Cause no one's riding rides.
Terri: was gonna say for anyone that doesn't want do haunted houses, you can just walk on a lot of these rides.
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: All right, so we have me and Micah made our list. Terry's list is one through ten Stranger Things 'cause that's how much.
Terri: Stranger Things, which for anyone else there also, I was telling my kids, it's not scary if you know those Stranger Things lore. They were allowing jump scares. They had Vecna and the Demogorgons jumping out, but as far as the content in it, it wasn't gory, wasn't spooky, nothing like
Myka: Mm mm.
Terri: that. I would say that's like a PG-13
Jason: I'll say this about this.
Terri: house.
Jason: I'll say this about this year's house is that I really think Terry could have really done all these houses without jump scares.
Myka: Hellraiser might have been the one she wouldn't have liked 'cause it was gory.
Jason: Yeah. They were
Terri: An egg? Good.
Jason: They w they weren't like over the like art last year. The Terrifier House was so bad when it came to glue and all that stuff. Nothing was on that level. And there was
Myka: Yeah, that one was really, really gory. Mm mm.
Jason: even to the scare side of stuff, like the Jason house, there wasn't it to that level of scares. It was it was pretty, pretty tame for years. so starting out at at 10, we'll run through these. We'll we'll talk about some of the houses and and stories we might have had from the houses during this. Michael, what was your ten?
Myka: Stranger Things.
Jason: Mine was t two. Like and it just comes down to the fact of I didn't watch the show. I wasn't
Myka: Right.
Jason: there wasn't really anything impressive about the house that was just like, I have to do no.
Myka: It wasn't scary. No.
Terri: It went through like the storyline of the show. So like they said, if you hadn't really watched the show, you really didn't
Myka: Yeah.
Terri: get what was going on.
Myka: Like I don't know the character's name that like defeats the thing at the end, but he was there and defeating whatever the thing was, so
Terri: Technically that's one of the Rider's characters, the one that kills in the end.
Myka: okay. Well
Jason: and it might
Terri: Yeah
Jason: come down to the fact that we had a bad run, like there just wasn't they had just started they were still trying to get in their mood and
Myka: I mean, we were there some of the first people going through. Like we were at the beginning.
Jason: everything. So and Rachel, if you have any questions about any of these, obviously pipe in. Okay.
Rachel: Yeah, no, I've never I've never watched Stanger Things, so I would probably be on the same par as you two, not understanding the storyline.
Myka: Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Rachel: So
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: number nine.
Myka: HR blood and guts because it was campy and not scary at all.
Jason: Okay, we're this
Rachel: It was campy.
Jason: this is gonna be completely different.
Myka: Campy, it was not scary.
Terri: Yeah, she came out and said that was super campy. I remember that. Yeah, she was laughing.
Myka: I was like, Terry, you could have done that. That was like funny. Like that wasn't scary.
Jason: Yeah, it was Me and last year me and Michael were pretty close on our houses. I think we're gonna be
Rachel: You are
Jason: pretty far far apart this year. because my number nine was Evil Dead Burns. And it goes back to the same thing as Stranger Things Five was the it wasn't scary. I hadn't watched the movie. It you know, I'm not attached to this this property at all. I've seen the last one.
Myka: See, I thought Evil Deadburn was scarier, way scarier than a lot of the other ones.
Jason: I might have and I might have missed some scares that you might have gotten, but I just didn't
Myka: Well, I just don't like the idea
Terri: you
Myka: of like possession and stuff, so
Terri: Yeah. Religion in kids and stuff is super spooky to me. Like anytime he makes all that kind of stuff.
Myka: Yeah, like I think that's what it was. Well, 'cause we're going through the house. I've never seen the movie either. And I turn and I look at Jason, I go, I'm assuming the plot is like that these people are getting possessed and killing themselves.
Jason: Yes.
Myka: And he was like, Yeah. And I was like, Okay, like that came across and like I got sprayed with water multiple times of people stagging stabbing themselves in the neck and I don't know. I thought it was way scarier.
Jason: There's a chainsaw. Somebody somebody with a chainsaw cut something up and I got sprayed.
Myka: Yeah, like I found that one to be scary. So it's on my list higher up than yours.
Jason: Yeah, mine's mine's low. What's your eight? We we should
Myka: my number eight.
Jason: include Terry on this and every time she just it's stranger things.
Terri: Stranger Things.
Myka: Stranger Things. Yeah. my number eight
Terri: Stranger Things.
Myka: was Cyber Goria because it smelled so bad. I literally went through the entire
Jason: Jesus. But
Rachel: It did.
Myka: house with my hair over my nose because
Terri: HHN in
Rachel: I was good at
Terri: general has a smell.
Jason: I'm gonna say this, right. I'm not trying to cut you off, Rachel. The smell wasn't in the house, it was in the queue. You got into because this was
Myka: It was in line. It was like being pushed into the queue.
Jason: yeah, you got into the you remember the f the Fast and Furious, this was in that ride.
Myka: It's it's where the Jason house was last year.
Rachel: Y okay. Yes. Okay.
Jason: So the big garage was fine, but as soon as you go onto that little side garage before you start walking down the hallway, it hits
Rachel: Right.
Jason: you and it smells absolutely atrocious. And it's like, yeah.
Rachel: Like what?
Myka: And Terry stood in line with us for this one, so she smelled
Terri: I just say the line,
Myka: it.
Rachel: What did it smell like?
Terri: I smelled it.
Jason: But as soon as we walked into the house, nothing. Could not smell a thing.
Terri: Do you, Rachel, do you know how HHN has that
Myka: I wouldn't know 'cause I didn't move my hair.
Terri: smell? Like it's just a weird smell it has. I feel like, I don't know. As
Rachel: Kinda, yeah.
Terri: soon as I walked in, it's like a rotten kind of stale and it's,
Myka: Yeah, it was supposed to be like rotting bodies.
Terri: yeah.
Jason: Yeah, 'cause the story arc is that the cryogenics
Rachel: But it was only in the
Jason: has failed and they are now take taking the bodies and turning them into cyborgs.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: So you got the smell of rotting flesh.
Myka: It wasn't scary, it was just stinky and gross.
Rachel: Okay, so that was a smelly house.
Jason: It was v i it
Myka: It was smelly.
Jason: was a smelly cue. The house, like I said,
Rachel: Got it.
Jason: was not smelly.
Rachel: Okay.
Myka: I I
Terri: I
Myka: like I said, I w no, my hair never left my nose. I literally just
Rachel: Was that the was that the only house slash queue that was had a stank to it?
Myka: Yeah.
Terri: Stank.
Jason: Prominent, yes.
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: I don't think there was
Rachel: Stank.
Jason: other ones that were like as prominent as that one. Like Jack and
Rachel: Okay.
Jason: Oddfellow had some sweet smells to it. But Yeah.
Myka: Yeah. But nothing that was like gross and stinky where you're like, ooh.
Rachel: Okay. Well, they always have a stinky, smelly house, and they always have a pretty house.
Terri: Yeah
Myka: Yeah. There
Jason: This one
Myka: was one of that had that like dirt smell, kinda like the one last year where like you were in the
Jason: Yeah.
Myka: grave or whatever.
Terri: Yeah.
Rachel: Okay.
Myka: So but nothing like truly as much as Cybergoria. Cybergoria was ew. I probably should have put it lower on my less than eight.
Jason: my eight is Hellraiser. Just I've watched the second Hellraiser. I haven't watched the first one. Goes back to the same thing the other two. I just didn't I'm not attached to the property in any way. It's kinda weird that my bottom three are IPs, but that's just the way it is this year. I it was a fun house. It looked cool. I just wasn't attached to it in any way. And then there was a like w it was one of those where you could look at somebody the actor and there was a a Audible cue for that actor, but they're
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: wearing masks, so the he's not moving his mouth.
Myka: So th you couldn't see their mouth moving?
Jason: And it's like that kind of defeats this to me. It's like I'm paying
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: attention to the details and that's there. seven. Hey,
Myka: Madlands.
Jason: we match one.
Myka: Okay. Madlands. It I didn't find it scary. I like the idea of the story behind it where people like are basically turning into animals and like cannibals type thing and they're like being kept in cages. Like I understood the storyline. But again, it wasn't scary. It wasn't super gory.
Jason: This was the second longest wait we probably had. It was like forty
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: five, fifty minutes. And it got entertaining because halfway through the the
Myka: It did. We had a great time in this line.
Jason: queue and after we got in line, like there was no line behind us either. That was the other strange thing, is like it never
Myka: That happened in Aussie as well.
Jason: It did. So and and I think Evil Dead.
Myka: huh.
Jason: But halfway through the line we just s start hearing some hollering and
Myka: then some
Jason: this dude starts beating up on a woman. Like
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: Yeah, at mat he they were in line for Ozzy.
Terri: That's insane.
Myka: Yeah, in line. But he was in line for Ozzie Osbourne.
Rachel: So that was my number one. I just pulled up my I just pulled up my thing.
Jason: Madland was your number one.
Myka: Your Madlands was number one. It wasn't bad, but
Rachel: Uhhuh, I just pulled up I had it in my Google Docs
Jason: No, it was bad.
Rachel: from when we did our thing.
Myka: But we got
Jason: But
Myka: to hear a man get pushed down onto the ground by the police and handcuffed and everyone cheering and get his tail pushed into a cop car.
Jason: We we
Rachel: Perfect.
Jason: are just under a week past all of our adventure and with all the cameras that we saw videoing this stuff, we have not seen the video. We've seen one video
Rachel: You haven't seen anything?
Myka: I don't know
Jason: of the aftermath.
Myka: Yeah, I found one video of him
Terri: Yeah.
Myka: already on the ground. And there were some like three tall, like I don't know, twenty somethings behind us, like boys. And I turn around and I go, Hey, y'all are tall, what's happening? We can't see. They're like, we don't know. Literally they put one one of the teen or like twenty something year old boys put the other one on his shoulder so he could try to see.
Terri: .
Jason: Yeah.
Rachel: All right.
Jason: team members were great though, is 'cause as soon as this started happening they they pushed everybody to the side, try to get give them the the space needed to get in there, get the people out of the line, and then try to keep the other rest
Terri: you
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: of the line moving. So it was it was really great to see team members like jump into action.
Myka: Yeah. It was the entertainment we didn't think. I'm assuming alcohol was involved.
Jason: and if you see a picture of the guy, his name was Jesus. So it's he looks like a little stroid rage guy.
Myka: Well he did he I kept saying he was a meathead. Like you could see he was angry and I like saw his face and like he was mad and I
Terri: You saw, yeah.
Myka: like, Well, it just looks like a meathead that probably is like
Jason: Some
Myka: on roid rage with alcohol.
Jason: and all this is hearsay at this point, but like I I understand he they end up putting a spit mask on him because he was spitting at folks and somebody threw out water
Terri: Eugh! That's disgusting.
Jason: at him. Like we
Rachel: wow.
Jason: saw the water get thrown over.
Myka: Mm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Jason: So that was that was entertaining. That was the
Myka: It was.
Jason: Madlands. so six. We match again. Center.
Myka: Sinners. See, we just have a few that we swapped. I put Sinners.
Jason: Just a few.
Myka: I thought, like, again, I haven't seen the movie, but
Jason: With their bottom.
Myka: just like vampire I just think vampires are cool. And I liked like the New Orleans feel and like that older feel to it. I thought the storytelling was good through the house.
Jason: So I d I like the house. It was it was a good house for the most part. Like it's it's right there in the middle. like I
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: said, I haven't seen the movie. I also didn't see a left turn.
Myka: this is the literal funniest parts. So all the houses you know are single file.
Jason: I Yes.
Rachel: Mm-hmm.
Myka: And it has Beth, Jason, me. And that's a very important order to know.
Jason: Because I'm following Beth. We go into a pitch black room and it's, you know, I think Jason had one last year. so we're walking through and I hit the wall in front of me.
Rachel: Mm.
Jason: I'm like, ow, that hurt. So I start feeling around and I feel
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: the curtain on the right hand side. I'm like, okay. So I walk through the right hand side and I keep walking.
Myka: So I also run into this wall and think I run into Jason, but I turn left because I saw a light. And then next thing I know,
Terri: You
Myka: I catch up to Beth and I'm like, where's Jason? Like we get out of the house and I'm like, Beth, I don't know where Jason is. He was right in front of me and he's not here anymore.
Jason: I found my way backstage.
Terri: You
Rachel: I was gonna say, did you end I
Myka: Jason got lost in the house!
Jason: I literally
Rachel: was gonna say, did you end up in like a spot you weren't supposed to be in?
Jason: I did and when I turned around I actually saw Beth walking through part. I'm like, okay. So I turned back around and I don't know how I missed this left turn because it's bright when I walk right back through that curtain. I'm like, okay. And
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: I got I probably scared some people because I'm just a random guy walking. And I walk through and there's Micah
Myka: He popped out of the wall.
Jason: and Bethany standing like, What happened?
Rachel: No no one came and got you?
Terri: That's what I was gonna say.
Jason: No.
Myka: No
Terri: No one caught you and was like, sir, you can't be back here.
Jason: No, I just I I'm like,
Rachel: wow.
Jason: okay. But I'm it probably also helped that I was wearing all black too. So it was like
Terri: Yeah.
Jason: So we
Rachel: Yeah.
Myka: laughed so hard when we got out of the house. I was laughing so hard because I was like, how did we lose you? Like how did we lose you?
Jason: We meet up with Terry Diagon Alley after this.
Terri: You
Jason: and we're telling her the story. And there's a team member standing right there at Crank King's Cross station. And
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: I am being judged by this this team member. Like she is she's listening to the conversation and it's like she's trying to make it not so obvious. And I'm like, finally
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: I look at her, I'm like, Are you judging me? Like I know I I yeah.
Myka: She's like, yeah, I am
Jason: She's like, Yeah, but she knew exactly where it was and she
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: was like it was
Rachel: yeah.
Jason: So I mean she goes, I understand but
Rachel: You're probably not the only one that's done that. Yeah.
Jason: yeah, so that was like
Myka: You I would think they would have someone on the other side of the curtain be like wrong way.
Terri: Yeah.
Myka: Like flashlight something like wrong way.
Jason: Yeah. Turn around.
Terri: have hands up or something like nope nope can't come here
Myka: Mm.
Jason: I've been through this is my ninth year going. So ten houses a year. I've been through ninety houses. And this is the over only time I've gotten turned around like that.
Myka: It was hilarious. I mean, honestly, like when I ran into the wall, because I had like my hand like in front of me because it got dark and I just wanted to make sure I didn't run into anything. So I like bumped in. I was like, because at first there's cloth on it. So I thought it was Jason's shirt, but I was like, no, that's a wall. And then I was like, okay, so I just like turned my head and I saw light and I saw Beth go around the corner. And I was like, well, that's weird. Where's Jason? Maybe she like stopped and he's in front of her. But then I catch up and I'm like, wait, Jason isn't here. Like where where did he go? And I was like, it's like a left behind moment. Like he just got taken away, like just disappeared. Yeah,
Terri: You got raptured.
Myka: he's just gone.
Jason: Yeah, so I probably won't ever let that one down.
Myka: No.
Terri: So can you imagine you did that sober? Can you imagine how much
Myka: Yeah.
Terri: that happens like drunk people like getting lost in these houses now? Just.
Jason: I I wouldn't say I was comp I wasn't completely
Myka: Right.
Rachel: Right.
Jason: sober at that point though. Like
Rachel: But that's like what I'm saying. The fact that no one likes came to you.
Terri: Did this has to, yeah, it's a common occurrence that.
Myka: Or that's like not a corner where a team member's standing 'cause like you go through those houses and there's so many corners where team members are standing. Like I even I don't remember what house it was in. I even made a comment to one of the team members. She had a fan on and I was like, that fan is smart and she's like, yeah, like it is. Like
Rachel: Did did you like see anything that you weren't like supposed to see? Or like
Jason: Not that I wasn't paying that close attention. I just as soon as I walked out I was
Rachel: All right.
Jason: like, I knew I'm not supposed to be here, so I'd like completely turned around.
Rachel: I said no if like
Myka: Well it was pitch dark though.
Terri: Yeah, cool stuff back there. Yeah.
Rachel: I didn't know if it was like a s a hide spot for like a like a team
Jason: Well that it wasn't
Rachel: member to come out, you know?
Jason: Yeah, it w it wasn't it wasn't a hide spot or anything. Like it's probably
Myka: It was probably a pass through for them.
Jason: Yeah, it's a it's probably for when they they switch out the cast so they can walk past and stuff like that.
Myka: Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Rachel: Yeah. So maybe there's not a camera there. I'm just like thinking, like I feel like you're on camera
Jason: Yeah, there's not a camera there.
Rachel: you're like on camera everywhere or I would expect to be on camera everywhere. And then they're
Myka: Right. Right.
Terri: Thanks, Luke. Yeah.
Jason: You're pretty close to it.
Rachel: and they're probably like infrared too to be in like
Myka: Yeah.
Rachel: night vision.
Jason: Rule.
Rachel: So like how come you weren't spoken to?
Jason: They make a point. I mean, if you when you go to the next H H N, when you walk into a house, they have a tablet sitting right there and that they have all the cameras. So you know you they they make it known that
Myka: You see the cameras, yeah. Yeah.
Rachel: I know, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, I've seen them. Yeah.
Jason: you're being watched in these houses. I just don't think it's in that spot. Yeah.
Rachel: Every room, yeah.
Jason: because you'd have to have a lot of cameras and that's probably like the main aspect.
Myka: Or it's like basically like they can see on the camera too, like, they didn't mean to do that. Like, you know, like you're not specifically looking. Yeah.
Rachel: Right. Like you weren't doing it intentionally, yeah.
Terri: That's what I was wondering
Jason: Yeah.
Terri: if they like saw him like immediately like realize his mistake. Yeah Maybe they're laughing
Rachel: I'm not supposed to be here. Right. Like you weren't intentionally trying to like go backstage.
Terri: at you from behind the camera. They're like, let's see how long it takes him
Jason: Yeah, probably won't.
Myka: Yeah, probably. I wonder if they have like a game where they're like, Alright, let's put let's put like a bead in the jar every time someone makes this wrong turn.
Rachel: Let's let's a bet.
Terri: Yeah.
Rachel: Yep.
Jason: So after that it was like, Are you sure you want me to be the leader of this house? So I don't think so either. That which was weird to me. Yeah. I was still leading Micah
Myka: I don't think we let you lead anymore. He wasn't either.
Terri: You weren't leading then! You weren't even leading then!
Rachel: But Beth but Beth was yeah, Beth was in the lead. You weren't
Jason: and whoever else was behind her, so I'm surprised I didn't take a whole Congo line behind. I know.
Myka: I wasn't that close to you though. Like
Jason: so let's go to number five. What was yours?
Myka: evil dead burn.
Jason: See mine's cybergoria.
Myka: Well, I don't like that one.
Jason: I just think it was a r it was a really good told story and I got I didn't get like scares but
Myka: I guess I was paying attention to breathing through my nose through my hair to really pay attention to the
Jason: Yeah, that was good thing.
Rachel: She's like
Terri: Yeah.
Myka: story. A hundred percent. That's what I did.
Jason: All right, number four.
Myka: Ozzie Osborne. Okay. It was good. It was not
Rachel: Okay, that was my number two.
Jason: Same. here's here's my thing.
Myka: scary. I liked it a lot. The music was playing. Very like iconic moments from Ozzie. I love there was a giant bat. But it wasn't scary.
Terri: So did it go
Rachel: Batswa.
Terri: through his discography?
Jason: It went through like four s four of the popular songs. right.
Myka: Yeah. It was supposed to be like album covers and stuff too, right? Yeah.
Jason: So here's my thing. I it was my number one house on my hype list. so it dropped to number four. It was too short for me. That's why it's so
Rachel: Mm.
Jason: low that's why it's not so low. Like
Myka: It was very short. It was very short. It was number one for me as well on my hype list.
Jason: I'm like, this should be a really good one. the crazy train scene was amazing because
Myka: It that was great.
Jason: you saw a a couple in the train and they had just died, and then like they decompose as you walk by the cabin. So the cab there's
Rachel: that's cool.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: four cabins and different levels of decompo composing. the funny thing, while because this just came to my head, we were getting breakfast that morning at All Star Sports and Me and Beth were checking out and I'm wearing my H H N shirt. And the guy that's bringing us up, he was like, are you going tonight? I'm like, Yeah. And he goes, He actually came out from behind and looked at the back of my shirt. And he said, He told me which one was his was his favorite. And I was like, Well, Gaulkin was the best one. And he goes, Well, I I've gone to H H N that like six times. So I'm over in my lifetime, not this year, my lifetime. so I I know what I'm talking about when I know this stuff. And I'm like,
Terri: Okay.
Jason: All right, you can shut up. Like you just don't know.
Terri: Thank you.
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: And he goes, I'm not gonna spoil anything for you. Ozzy's a great house, and there's some transportation you go in. I'm like, No way. You're not talking about the most famous Ozzy Osbourne song, are you?
Terri: You
Myka: What? It's not like he has a song called Crazy S yeah. Right.
Terri: Thank
Jason: Like, so it was just like and he gave us two free coffees. And I'm like, I don't drink coffee, but it was. But it was just funny that he was
Rachel: That conversation was worth the three the free coffee.
Terri: It was.
Myka: Terry and I got the coffee.
Jason: like I'm here to help you with anything H H N because I've been six times in my life. And I'm like, I've been six times in the last two years.
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: so yeah, Ozzy, I think if it was longer, it would have been higher on my list. That was my disappointment. But like Mike I said, the music was great. the last scene for the Ozzy house was Ozzy with his bat suit, his bat wings, and he falls
Myka: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Jason: down and he's singing I Love You All from one of the concert. So it was a good tribute to him. a lot better tribute than the WWE world. Yeah.
Myka: Yeah. It was enjoyable. Like from scene to scene, it flowed well. Like I didn't feel like it was disjointed on how it flowed. Like I just really and I'm not a big like Ozzie Osbourne. Like again, I probably know Crazy Train is probably one of the only
Rachel: Right.
Myka: songs that I know. But I know of like Ozzy Osbourne and just his family enough. And God
Rachel: Cause we used to watch the Osbournes.
Terri: Yeah, like Sharon.
Jason: See that's the thing though, it's like I listened to
Myka: I yes. Give me that trashy reality TV, please.
Rachel: Yes.
Jason: I watched it but I listened to his music and that's why I like both
Rachel: Hm. Yeah.
Jason: of both of them are great, but the music part and then there's like being able to go through a house and have the music playing of stuff you know. It's really fun.
Myka: Yeah. Like I said, like the music was familiar. Like there's songs that I had heard, but I couldn't tell you what the name of the song was.
Jason: Right. You didn't know they were Aussie at the at that moment
Terri: you
Jason: until you heard it. what's your number three?
Myka: Hellraiser. 'Cause I thought this one was gross because there's people with skin peeled off and again,
Terri: Damn.
Myka: I get what you're saying about like all the masks and not seeing people like move their mouth, but there was a lot of people sticking their tongue out of those masks and I thought that was gross.
Rachel: Ew, I hope they don't have to share them. Like imagine
Jason: Rachel's face. No.
Terri: Ugh.
Rachel: you're like the next cast member. Here you go.
Myka: Right, let's put this
Terri: Here's your
Myka: back on your face with
Terri: math back.
Myka: the tongue sticking out. I did like I thought that house was a little gross as well.
Jason: Mine was HR Blood and Guts. So that means our top two are the same. Not not necessarily in the same order. But
Myka: Maybe not.
Jason: HR Blood and Guts, yes, it was campy, but it was so
Myka: So can't be.
Jason: good campy. Like it was a fun house. They had a lot of tributes to different things. And that's why I liked it was because it was so cheesy. Like
Myka: I think I laughed more through that house than anything. 'Cause that's the one that Terry and Beth left to go look at the they went through scare zones and food,
Jason: They went through some scare zones and tried some food.
Rachel: Mm.
Myka: yeah.
Terri: Yeah. Hey, can I jump in real quick? Because I'm gonna have to leave here and like slip out. I just want to say that Beth and I is kind of a good point. Beth and I were walking around. The kids. We're loving the Fortnite section. I know we joked on that so much about why they were doing it. And once I saw it, I know exactly why. They are roping their next generation in. And
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: what they do, I mean, it's marketing 101. They are getting them in. I mean, so many kids are taking pictures. So many families. I mean, they were like different, you know, how they do like, it was teenager central over there. So,
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Terri: and I hated the clown. I hated Downtown Clown Town. It sucked, I hated it, but I stayed there and took pictures with Beth because she loved it. So, but I had fun.
Myka: She did. Terry
Jason: Down we did not
Myka: was a trooper.
Jason: me and Micah did not go through Fort Nightmares. that was the only scare zone we didn't go through. Beside well we we went through a little bit of this of the s a chainsaw's hoard. so number two.
Myka: number two for me was Alien Invasion.
Jason: Okay, so we're we're dead we're the same on both of
Myka: Okay.
Jason: Alien Invasion was fun because it It wasn't what it was what I was expecting completely.
Myka: Right.
Jason: Like I was expecting to see like a lot of alien v like go start in the house, move your way out, but you stayed in the house the entire time. And at
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: some point, like the floor starts vibrating on you. And
Myka: Uh-huh. Like the house is being lifted up like by the alien spaceship. And it
Rachel: that's cool.
Myka: has like the really cool effects of like through the cracks of the floors, like the green lights coming up. Like it was really cool.
Rachel: that's neat.
Myka: Like I actually
Jason: Yeah.
Myka: really like that was another one that Terry and Beth didn't
Rachel: That was low on my list.
Myka: go through. It was low on my list too, I'm pretty sure. Like it was a good storytelling.
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: Yeah, this was me and Micah this was like the we went to HR Blood and Guts and we were right here at Alien Invasion. So we w swung by, picked up some hot dogs and
Myka: Mm-hmm. It went from number eight on my hype list to number two.
Jason: Yeah, I was looking at mine.
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: It was it was number four of mine, so it went up to just two, but
Myka: This was also Jason and I didn't really eat food food during Halloween Horror Nights and we ate hot dogs in line for this because it was close and we just grabbed a hot dog.
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: And I will say this is probably the worst queue to be in because it was Simpson and there was no airflow whatsoever. Yeah. So we were like,
Myka: Yeah. And it was loud. Everyone's like noise was just bouncing off like the roof through Simpsons.
Jason: It felt longer than it was. I think we waited like 30, 40 minutes, but it felt like it was a long time just
Rachel: Just 'cause of that, yeah.
Jason: because how it was. So that means our both our number ones is Jack and Oddfellow. Best house by far.
Myka: It was really good.
Jason: They was it was a fun house. It had some good jump scares. It has some
Myka: Mm-hmm. It did?
Jason: really cool techniques.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: they had the spinning tunnel.
Myka: Yes. Yeah.
Rachel: they did? Did you guys get like
Jason: But they
Rachel: all when you were walking?
Jason: it was weird. because they did it with
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: they did it with LEDs instead of a big turning tunnel. So it was just a screen like the epic portals.
Myka: Yeah. Mm-hmm.
Rachel: Okay. my god, I would get like sick.
Jason: And then there was a tilted room too. So you walk in Yeah. So because
Myka: portion of it, yeah. So like scary fun house. Yeah.
Rachel: That's neat. Yeah.
Jason: you're you're going back and forth between Jack's story and Oddstore Oddfellow's story of Jack's origin. So this is the first time
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: you see Jack without his makeup. It's one of the very first scares you see. and then after that it's all just Jack and Oddfellow telling their different sides. And it's long. It was great, it was fun.
Myka: Mm-hmm. It was a long house. Like I felt like I was like, we're going around the corner. I was like, we have more to go. we have more to go. Versus like Ozzy Osborne you get out and you're like, that was it.
Jason: The other thing, back to alien right quick, is there's an extra scare. So you come out of the house and you turn
Myka: There is. Mm-hmm.
Jason: right to to exit. There's
Myka: It's like out of out house.
Jason: yeah, there's an outhouse and an alien pops out of the outhouse. It's like maybe twenty steps outside the house and this alien just chop jumps out. So
Rachel: Ha That's kinda cool.
Myka: We were around some really great people getting scared. Like that's my favorite is to be around people who actually scream. and
Rachel: Yeah.
Myka: when we were in the alien house, this was the best part. We got stopped right near the end. And they were taking, I think, an RIP tour out, because we got stopped
Jason: yeah, yeah, yeah.
Myka: so that they could come out. And there was an alien on stilts, and the girl behind us was scared. And she like came around the corner and she like screamed, but then we're stuck in front of this alien. So the alien bent down and was one leg, ha!
Jason: He's like
Myka: Like making fun of the girl. Like, it was hilarious.
Rachel: That's awesome.
Myka: It was
Jason: So
Myka: really and sh that girl was no longer scared and she was like laughing and doing it back with the alien scare actor, but
Jason: I like how the the team members of scare actors can can pivot like that and have fun.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: it's just that's that's one thing that makes this whole thing for me is it's a great little experience. especially like the scare zones. We don't have too much time left. we spent we spent more most of the time in downtown clown town, and by
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: most of the time it's like very little because yeah. And we'd walk
Myka: It's just because it's so big. Like you have to kind of walk through it.
Jason: and while while we say we we were leisurely and walking and everything. It was still getting from point A to point B, so we didn't have time to stop and take a lot in. But that's
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: still like the best scare zone to me. I dunno you have 'cause you have art.
Myka: There was just a lot.
Jason: You have art next to Transformers. You have chance
Myka: Mm.
Jason: in front of the tribute store. You have the killer clowns doing something in front of Jimmy Fallon. And then you have the whole streetmosphere that's passed like in front of mummy and everything back back that way. So it's just
Myka: Yeah. It was huge.
Rachel: so that's big.
Jason: a lot.
Rachel: Yeah.
Myka: It's really funny because there's one scare actor in the downtown clown town that's been a little bit controversial because
Jason: he's been a lot of controversial.
Myka: because he wears a trench coat and he opens it and it's full of rubber chickens. And so I was standing there like laughing and stuff and he comes up behind me and just like barely opens his trench coat and goes, honk honk and like honks one of the chickens.
Rachel: That's awesome.
Jason: It's great.
Myka: It was so funny. Like I literally
Rachel: Were there
Myka: was so funny.
Rachel: did they have the no scare medallion things again? Okay.
Jason: Yes, they have the Deathly Afraids are still there. And
Myka: Yeah. Mm-hmm.
Jason: I saw a few, I didn't see a lot, but
Myka: I didn't see a lot.
Jason: you know
Rachel: I feel like it's a magnet just to like make you scared. Like, you don't wanna do they
Myka: Do we want to touch on the show?
Jason: that's what I was gonna say, but Rachel, what were you gonna
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: ask?
Rachel: it was but remember how we would go through like the club thing?
Myka: Poor. Mm-hmm.
Jason: They had it. Yes.
Rachel: Was that they had something like that again? Was it as like pumpy? Like
Myka: It just the music wasn't as like good this year. No.
Jason: And it wasn't as it wasn't as popular too. Like they put a bar back in Fast and Furious now and some tables so
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: that it's an actual club now, quote unquote.
Rachel: Okay.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: But it's still it didn't feel as lively, but I still liked the atmosphere it gave. So if you wanted to do something, you could. so blood near.
Rachel: Yeah, so what was about the show? Because I really enjoyed that last year, especially because there was a bald chick and that SHE WHAS YES
Jason: You wouldn't.
Myka: So it she was there again this year. She was. She's
Jason: She's not yeah, she was, she was. Yeah. Yeah.
Myka: real, real,
Jason: she was
Myka: real, real great. Like she's a she's a bad A, big time. They upped the fire. They upped it.
Jason: There is a lot. There's a lot of firing. And water.
Rachel: Yeah. Yeah. They did, okay.
Myka: And water. Well, it's supposed
Jason: Yes.
Myka: to be blood.
Rachel: Okay.
Myka: so it's vampire themed, Blood Noir. That
Rachel: Okay.
Myka: it's like so a whole theme. and as soon as the main character comes out, Terry leans over and she goes, Hey, it's Edward from Twilight. 'Cause the guy's a vampire and he's like sparkly.
Jason: So I'll say this right quick. The fuel girls are like the vampire hunters this year.
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: So they're the ones trying like they're and they're coming out a lot more. So I guess that was like their
Myka: A lot.
Jason: the big thing that they wanted for this contract was to, if they're coming from the UK, they want to be more prominent.
Rachel: Seen more. Yeah.
Jason: So they are like there is fire all over the place in this one. And it's great. I love it. I loved it
Myka: Yeah. Yeah. It's so good.
Jason: in the last one. Their parts were always the best parts to me. so to see them brought up. up front a lot more because they're introduced
Rachel: Good.
Jason: very, very early in the show.
Myka: Yes.
Jason: so after that you see, you know, you got your typical dance stuff with acrobats and whatnot. And then Micah's favorite part, she was told by your your boss, right? That there was a surprise.
Myka: Okay, my boss that went a couple weeks before, because I don't handle human things very well. That like last year they had the contortionist.
Jason: Yes.
Myka: I don't want to see the human body do things that's not normal. so
Rachel: yeah. I remember that dude.
Myka: uh-huh. My boss was like, the contortionist isn't there, but there's a surprise. And I was like, a surprise. I was like, can I guess? And they're like, sure. And I guessed. Is it someone swallowing swords? And he said no. It was someone swallowing swords and then he was doing push-ups.
Rachel: With it down its throat?
Myka: Yes. As soon as it happened, I literally spent the entire time like this.
Jason: So it's it's a sword and then he had like the crooked sword that he put in. And then his last
Myka: Didn't watch that.
Jason: thing was corkscrews that he put through his nose that came out his mouth. and then he came out at the end when they kind of feature everybody and he put something I couldn't see what it he was on the far side of the stage.
Myka: It was through his nose and then he started using a grinder on it, like full on sparks coming off of it. I got so nauseous when he first came out and I saw that first sword. I was like, no, I'm done.
Jason: When I saw him come
Rachel: I've never seen sword swallowing in person.
Jason: Well, it's pretty cool. When when he 'cause I had seen that part, I'd watched the video already on YouTube.
Rachel: Yeah.
Jason: And so I
Myka: That was the grossest part of the night. I just need everyone to know that was the grossest, goriest part of the night.
Rachel: I think I would have enjoyed it.
Jason: When r when Micah said that her bosses had said there was something a surprise, I saw the guy come out on Sage and was like, Hey Micah, the surprise is about to be here and he started doing that and she like ducked down. She was like, nope, not here.
Myka: I can't like I just like unless you wanted me to like hurl up my non food that I've had in my belly at this point, no thank you.
Rachel: As someone that like cuts open animals for a living, I find
Myka: So
Rachel: it weird that you can't.
Myka: Can't do humans. Right. So what the craziest part is is if I see blood on the ground and I think it's animal blood, I'm good. But the moment you say it's human, I'm done. I can't. I turn white and almost pass out. I don't know.
Jason: Well positive is there was no human blood. It was
Myka: No.
Jason: just human, you know, swallowing of
Myka: It just is so I don't know, like I can't yeah, it's just
Rachel: Unnatural? It's unnatural.
Myka: so unnatural. And Terry kept saying, Well, he's not actually swallowing the swords. I was like, Terry, those aren't pretend swords. Like there's no contraction.
Jason: He had no gagging bikes. Yes, he is. Yeah, he there's there's a reason he had to be the way he was when he's doing push ups.
Myka: No, like no, thank you. Yeah, because he's gotta stay straight.
Rachel: was it like awkward? Was he like
Jason: Yeah, 'cause he he had to be like 'cause you got you can't put your down you know, you can't bend the metal sword, so he's gotta
Rachel: No. Yeah, you gotta like keep it open.
Myka: No. But it was really
Jason: But yeah.
Myka: good and Jason got wet during the show. I got a drippy drop because there was a point where the vampire bites pretty close.
Jason: And not in a good way. We were actually like two
Rachel: How far how close were you?
Jason: or three rows behind the R.I.P. And
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: we came in like pretty pretty late considering.
Myka: Well, because we were getting out of line and I said, Why don't like what so Terry can be with us, why don't we go over and do the first show? And Jason's like, I don't know if we'll make it. And literally as we came in though, we were some of the last people they let into the queue. And we were just standing
Jason: And Beth
Myka: in that courtyard.
Jason: Beth and I were able to get a drink in line
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: and as they were handing us the drink, they started letting people up the staircase. So
Rachel: Nice.
Myka: I bet we didn't wait not even ten minutes in that line to get in.
Rachel: I feel like you guys had such great timing this trip. With besides your flight. But every Yeah. No, you guys timed
Myka: We had great time. Yeah, I mean, that's that's not part of Halloween Horror Nights though. Like besides that though,
Jason: It was it was almost perfect.
Rachel: it out.
Myka: yeah, it was really great. And we were already at the back side of the park, so that's when we did some other of the houses and kind of split off. but yeah. Yeah.
Jason: Yeah, I think we went to H that's when we went to HR Blood and Guts was and Terry weighed in line with that one for us, like we had mentioned earlier. But I think
Myka: And that's when I that was when the picture of me watching banana ball got posted was after that because I was watching my banana ball game in line. 'Cause it was a decently long line, so
Jason: It was it was a good time. I enjoyed myself, Rachel. Like we said before, you were very much missed.
Myka: Yeah.
Rachel: I'm I had FOMO after seeing the pictures and stuff. I definitely
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Rachel: had FOMO.
Jason: And I I would all I would love to suggest that if we could do it next year, like I'm not gonna force Terry. Terry has she's left off because she
Myka: Two years in a row.
Jason: yeah, she had to go pick up or take her kids home. So I just if we could do it, if we do premium scream night where the food's included and there's no lines and whatnot, I think we'd have a good
Myka: Yeah.
Jason: time just being able to it's a Thursday night, that's a bad thing is
Myka: one of the things we didn't mention is we saw the Death Eaters. That's when we split off from Terry and Beth, and they were in
Jason: w yeah, we were coming back to meet them.
Myka: yeah, they were in Diagon
Rachel: Mm.
Myka: Alley and said the Death Eaters had just come out. And I kind of forgot that was one of the number one things I wanted to do was to see the Death Eaters. And Jason and I got there like right as they were getting ready to walk down. So we were like there as soon as it happened. And then I got my butterbeer.
Rachel: There you go.
Myka: And then Terry left after that because she wasn't feeling good. It's all that spicy food.
Jason: Yeah. We got some pictures at the at the at the tower because the arches were covered
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: up for painting, so we didn't get traditional pictures with everybody. But yeah, I enjoyed it. Like I'm glad Terry came for a second year. I don't know if we can get her for a third year.
Rachel: Good. I mean I'm glad that she
Myka: It was a I really had a good time again. I mean, I think it's like the company you're with as well though. Like
Rachel: Of course.
Jason: Yes.
Myka: it depends on who you go with. Like I wouldn't wanna go like by myself. Like I'm not Jason to where I love Halloween Horror Nights enough to where I'm gonna go by myself, but
Jason: No.
Myka: with the right group of people, yeah.
Jason: When I go by myself, and I'll I'll say this so as a as a broad based thing. Like I like going with everybody and enjoying it because I can talk to people, I can enjoy myself. But when I'm solo, it's more of me behind a camera or me with
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: my earbuds in, watching people get scared, just taking in the atmosphere. I don't necessarily go into houses by myself if unless there's a twenty minute wait. I'm
Myka: Yeah, yeah.
Jason: not there for this the houses so much. I'm there for the atmosphere. So I would much rather be, especially like the company. Like you said, this the three of y'all when we go, I love it. It's fun. when I take Beth, it's me and her. We're doing whatever we need to do. And we don't necessarily do all the houses. I've always done all ten houses my first night. So I was glad that we got to do that. Like we mentioned, we got in a round one fifty. We walked out of there twelve just under twelve hours later. So
Myka: Yeah, we did. It was still a full day.
Jason: And that
Rachel: I mean it's it that's a very full day. I think I would probably have enjoyed it spaced out how you guys did it this year than last year with ExpressPass. 'Cause that was a lot in Yeah, it seemed like it.
Myka: Yeah, there was a lot more sitting around this time. Like when we waited for the sinner's house. I mean, we were sitting on the ground for like an hour and fifteen minutes. So
Jason: Right.
Rachel: Yeah. And
Myka: that was a whole hour.
Rachel: Yeah. No, it just sounds like a good trip.
Myka: Which thank goodness we did because that line got crazy. Like it was really long.
Jason: Yeah, I I like I said, I I would always love y'all. The the inv invite is always open to anybody
Rachel: Of course.
Jason: to go with me when I do this thing. or I'm I would like to do RIP again next year just to try it again. 'Cause I think that would be the
Myka: Now that they have special merch.
Jason: Yeah, now that they have special merch for sure, I want a shirt. Those shirts were crazy cool. And they go to the special bar, the Jimmy Fallon bar. Is that is there anything else you have that you want to add, Micah, or questions you have for Rachel?
Rachel: No, you guys covered a lot.
Myka: Yeah.
Rachel: I do have FOMO. Like I really wish I could have been there. Nope. It makes
Myka: Just downside, I wish we would have stayed at Universal over Disney just for Halloween Horror Nights because that 30 minute car ride like back to Disney. Like I understand why
Rachel: Yeah. That's late.
Myka: we did, cause like we did Disney first and like we were literally just doing Halloween Horror Nights for that one night and Terry finished off at Disney. but when you're there that late and like cause we walked to Hard Rock and got an Uber from there, it would just have been so much easier just to hop on a bus, like and go where you wanted to go instead of
Rachel: Yeah.
Myka: having to like wait for an Uber.
Jason: And even then it's like, you know, if you're riding a a boat,
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: it's you might have to wait, but you're not you're once you get to that place, you were there. We walked like you said, we walked to Hard Rock, but ten, fifteen minute walk. they use the restrooms and then we waited for the Uber driver. So we were there for another ten, fifteen minutes.
Myka: Yeah. Like I said, like Jason
Rachel: Yeah, I just made the night longer.
Myka: said while we were there, like they're probably gonna do something like Disney here in the future where you have to have a reservation or something to to show up 'cause we weren't the only people that walked there to get an Uber from there. There was lots of people kinda waiting out underneath that awning, waiting for an Uber.
Jason: And the the reason we did that for those who don't know is that Uber at Universal is on top of one of the parking decks. it's the
Myka: And it's far away.
Jason: one yeah, it's the one straight in front of you when you're leaving. I don't know what number that one is. But you have to go to the very top. So at the end of the
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: night, you're walking from Universal Studios all the way through security to the other parking deck up to to the very top just to get an Uber. So we just walked over to
Myka: Yeah. It's a long way.
Jason: we Ubered over into S Sapphire Falls though. So we could take a boat in. And Get past that security faster.
Rachel: Well that was smart, yeah.
Jason: So that that was our little hack of how to get around stuff. I do believe they'll get to to the Disney level of make sure you have a reservation somehow so that people
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: don't do that and take advantage of it. but that's gonna do it for this week's episode. next week we were going to have Courtney and Blair on. They represented Magical Travel when Disney announced some of the stuff for the Disney Believe, which is the newest ship, Wish Clash ship, that will be
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: debuting next December. Kind of excited
Myka: Mm-hmm.
Jason: for it, kinda not. I have some thoughts based off of all the announcements, so I can't wait to talk to about that. I think it's just gonna be Micah and me with him. Rachel has some plans going on and then Terry also has some stuff going on, so
Myka: Her kids are on fall break, I think, next week, yeah.
Jason: So it and then Yeah.
Rachel: And I have dinner plans.
Myka: Yeah. That's okay.
Jason: And then to close out October, we're just gonna we we won't be having an episode the next week because yeah,
Rachel: We're gonna be on a cruise.
Jason: Rachel and I will be well, I mean if Micah and Terry wanna hop on and do their own episode, have at it, Micah.
Myka: God, you could you imagine trying to edit that episode of me and Terry?
Jason: No that would be horrible. It'd be great. It'd be fun. I would love it. Y'all
Rachel: Well
Jason: do it. I think that would be fun. but me and
Myka: We have the login.
Jason: yeah, Rachel and I will be on the Disney Dream with some of the amazing agents at Magical Travel. So for all of the agents at Magical Travel, if you want us to book any of your HHN food and wine festival, we'll be glad to do that. Go to
Rachel: Cruises
Jason: cruises, yeah. you can go to magical travel dot com and any of us will be glad to help you there. So once thank you again for once Bonacozy Cozy for sponsoring us. It's a they're a great company. Heather's a great person. We love her very much and what she puts out, she's always giving us koozies for when we do our training. So yeah, they're crocheted.
Rachel: And it's handmade. Like that's the best all
Myka: Mm-hmm. Yes.
Rachel: like FaceTime her and she's just like crocheting her her cozy.
Myka: Mm-hmm. Yes.
Rachel: So
Jason: So you can go to go to Etsy and find her shop once upon a cozy and
Myka: Once upon a cozy, all one word.
Jason: all one word, yes. And then she'll be glad to have you. And until the next time we will see you on the next episode.
Myka: Bye.
Rachel: Bye.
